In LASKARINES, three contemporary dancers embody the emotionality of an inner fight: the fight for self-realization. Caught between personal dreams, social expectations, and life's unpredictability, they navigate a balancing act that never fully succeeds. The performance moves from determination, joy, and contentment to stress, anger, and exhaustion. Where do the boundaries of our inner fights lie? And when does the pursuit of a dream become a burden?
The title LASKARINES refers to Laskarina Bouboulina, a prominent fighter in the Greek Revolution of 1821, who was exiled due to political conflicts and ultimately lost her life in a family dispute. Would Laskarina make the same choices today?
